Having the motto “Let’s all Enlightened and Meritorious, Nobody be Ignorant and Weak” the Phondaghat Education Society has started Arts and Commerce College in 1995, with the vision of providing quality higher education to the students from diverse backgrounds, irrespective of region, religion, caste, economic strata and academic performance. At present the College offers B. A. and B. Com. under-graduate degree courses of three years duration each, affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college is accredited with B grade from NAAC and is recognized by UGC under 2f and 12b. The Commerce wing is under non-grant basis since 2012. The College sensitizes its students on gender and environmental issues through celebrating national / international days, organizing awareness / sensitizing lectures, street plays, quiz competitions etc.
The Konkan is very beautiful natural dream-world, having hills and valleys, as well as full of adverse conditions for transportations and educations. Phondaghat is famous for sweet honey and loving people. Many citizens of Phondaghat have proved as renowned authors and players. The political and social leaders from Phondaghat are leading the district. Many people have successfully proved their capacities in multinational companies. The innate power of every citizen of Phondaghat has been strengthened by Phondaghat Education Society. Phondaghat Education Society was founded in 1952, and started spreading education for students of rural, hilly area, through New English School, Phondaghat. The contemporary social activists, farmers, traders, villagers and members of PES had started this mission with their self-sacrifice, which has now developed in large multi disciplinary institution.
Phondaghat Education Society has started Arts and Commerce College, in 1995, Phondaghat to fulfill the need of higher education in the vicinity. The college is permanently affiliated to the University of Mumbai. The college provides undergraduate courses of Arts and Commerce to the students. The college has a heritage of the excellent results in examinations. Many alumni of our college are serving the society through Police, Army, Banks and Educational institutions. The college has got District and University level awards in ‘Jagar Janivancha Abhiyan’ for emancipation of women, declared by the State Government. The college has been assessed and accredited with grade ‘B’ by NAAC Bangalore.
The college has given opportunity of Personality Development to the students through participating in various departments such as, NSS, DLLE, Sports, Cultural, Competitive Exam, Employment cell, Women Development cell, Maharashtra Vivekvahini, etc. Majority of teachers in our college have been awarded Ph. D. from various universities. The college is developing but having some infrastructure limitations. The college will take a flight with the support of students, alumni, parents, and citizens of Phondaghat. I wish the better prospects to all stake holders of the college.

The higher secondary education as per 10+2+3 pattern is executed in our College. There are about 900 students taking education in 11th and 12th std. of Arts and Commerce streams of it.
Bachelor of Arts (BA) is a full-time three-year undergraduate degree course offered by the University. BA is an extremely popular undergraduate course that students puruse right after their class 12th.
Bachelor of Commerce is a three-year undergraduate course imparted in regular as well as distance education mode. BCom is the second most popular undergraduate course in the Commerce branch.
